Today our plan was to get in some more shopping, including Harrods (again), and visit Westminster Abbey. Emily has become quite the navigator when it comes to the London train system, especially the Underground (Tube). During her many explorations of the Tube Map, she noticed the "Emirates Airline" and wanted to go check it out. It wasn't the best day to ride a cable car, grey skies and a bit windy, but it was still fun. On the way to the cable car, Dave just had to go and check out the Emirates Aviation Experience, a small display which includes cockpit simulators (for an extra charge). Sadly we just didn't have the time to enjoy the simulator experience as well.
Lets' fly an A380 Airbus....
This was just a display; there were also four working cockpit simulators...
Hopping on the Emirates Airline...
Catching the Light Rail service back to the tube...
Please stand to the right on the escalators....please mind the gap between the train and the platform...
Westminster Abbey... fabulous! Well worth the admission charge...getting up close to history; tombs of early monarchs dating back to the 13th century...
Nice lunch in the cafe...
Another visit to Harrods...
A treat to share in the Harrods milk bar; a delicious oreo milkshake....only about AU $15.00...
