The weather was kinder to us the next day, Friday 16th August. We spent some time touring Edinburgh Castle, which looks majestic sitting atop the tall remnants of an ancient , long extinct volcano.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival was in full swing, so the streets were jam packed with crowds, buskers and many actors dressed in clothes from the 19th and 18th centuries. Great atmosphere!
A gun is fired every day at 1:00pm, as it has been for hundreds of years, to help sailors navigate. (setting their chronometers to the correct time)
A balancing busker, part of the Fringe festival:
This warrior was very still, but would lunge out at passers by, scaring quite a few!
Young actors have perished in their play...
Beautiful costumes...
Not so beautiful?
Time for a jump!
Mr Hanes that's AWSOME again I wish I was there
