The Tower Of London

On Tuesday 6th August we took the tube to the Tower of London.  My London guidebook's advice was to get there before 10am and go straight to the Crown Jewels, to avoid long queues. Well, we didn't manage to do that, so we did eventually need to queue for around 35 - 40 mins, but it was worth it.  Sorry, can't show you any photos, as no photography allowed.   Please enjoy the other photos from our day at the Tower; the Beefeater talk and tour was great, especially the stories of the unfortunate people who met their end on the executioner's chopping block (see photo of the axe and block below).  Lots of crowds, but then again, it is
summer and school holidays here.
