Welcome to London!

It was wonderful to finally get off the plane in London, although there then was a bit of a wait to get through the UK border control.  LOTS of people from all over the world lined up.   After a bit of a delay with our taxi we arrived at the flat in Hammersmith at around 10:30pm on Thursday 1st August.
Next day did some local walking... this school is just around the corner from our flat:
This is the Godolphin Latymer School:

Here's our first squirrel in nearby Ravenscourt Park:
Next day we took the doubledecker London bus to Kensington High street and Kensington Palace:

Here are the Barclays bicycles you can hire in London - pick up at one place and drop off at another:
Dad & Emily on the Kensington High Street:

One of the famous London department stores - Marks & Spencer
A delicious snack in Marks & Spencer:
We love the old buildings - check out the black cat...

Live music at the Whole Foods Market in Kensington High Street:
SO many wonderful things to eat!

Not much chocolate to choose from!

And now to Kensington Palace to meet the new Prince George...
 Kensington Palace Gardens:
Statue of Queen Victoria with the Kensington Palace in the background:

More of the palace gardens - wish my back yard looked as good!

Those swans were a bit bitey...
 Time for the carousel!
