Bath - bus tours, Roman Baths

Thursday 5th September was our first full day in Bath. We were blessed with beautiful weather and made the most of it by taking two open-top bus tours of Bath.

The Pulteney bridge across the River Avon in Bath...

Bath Abbey, founded in the 7th Century...
 The Bath open-top bus...

 Bath's beautiful architecture...

One of the many buskers ... very talented violinist...
We had a very enjoyable visit to the Roman Baths.  Amazing to see all the artefacts on display, but also fascinating to see the hot spring water (46 degrees) gushing forth at a rate of 1,170,000 litres per day,  much as it has done for thousands of years. This sacred spring water pours into the main bath area:

Here is the sacred spring, showing the water gushing out...
There were people dressed as Romans, using the baths much as the Romans would have nearly 2000 years ago...

The river Avon with Pulteney bridge...

The famous Royal Crescent in Bath...

What do you think of Emily's new Union Jack sunglasses?

 Beautiful flowers in Victoria Park:

Heading back to our farm near Bitton, following the narrow country lanes...
More views of Little Normead farm, where we stayed...

Emily played with Oscar, who lives on the farm...

Running off to the tree house...
