A busy Sunday morning as we finished our packing to catch the Metro train to Gare du Nord for our Eurostar train back to London. Apart from Dave getting his suitcase stuck in the platform gate, it was a fairly uneventful journey to Gare du Nord. In fact, it seemed as though we had time to spare, so we sat and relaxed in a cafe...all the while trusting that Dave knew the exact time of the Eurostar's departure. Unfortunately, as well as apparent early-onset dementia, Dave must also be developing dyslexia, as he kept quoting the departure time as 12:31pm, when in fact the Eurostar was due to depart at 12:13pm. By the time he checked this, we had not allowed enough time to go through French departure clearances and UK border checks, so we missed our train! Luckily we scored some reasonable seats on the next train, leaving Paris about an hour later.
