A very quiet day today as we are all a bit tired; forgot to mention about our arrival in London on Sunday at St Pancras station. The owner of our apartment in Brentford had already given us directions on getting the train from St Pancras. But Dave, being thorough, sent a second email to check the directions. Unfortunately the second time around, the directions said to go to West Ealing (should have been South Ealing). We couldn't see any "West Ealing" on any platform sign. When Dave asked, the attendant said we would have to change trains three times because of weekend trackwork.....well, the thought of that with all our luggage! Les insisted that it was South Ealing, and she was right; so we got off at South Ealing and caught a cab to the apartment. Phew!
The apartment is fabulous; Gile, the owner is terrific and spent time going through all aspects of the apartment. It's spacious and quiet - a little different to Paris. We love the London Overground train (South Western trains), which gets us to Waterloo in London in 30 minutes.
Dave snapped a couple of photos on the Monday whilst out walking; an abandoned church, and a local pussycat who appears from time to time outside the apartment...
