London - The Wallace Collection; Selfridges; Hamley's Toy Store

Wednesday, 11th September
The weather has been rather dreary this week; cloudy with light drizzle and some heavy showers at times.  Not to worry though, always plenty happening indoors in London!   Take a look at the things to do in Trip Advisor... That's what we've been doing, and decided to visit the Wallace Collection. It was a good decision - what a beautiful and amazing museum.  Many, many original and priceless pieces on display, including a number which were owned by Marie Antoinette.

A reading/writing desk, once treasured by Marie Antoinette...

 The young Queen Victoria...

When we were leaving the Wallace museum I noticed a cool little car called a Twizy - an electric car, and started walking towards it to take a photo. Before I knew it I was being asked to be interviewed by an Arabic cultural program, to discuss our visit to the Wallace museum.  So the three of us became impromptu TV stars, although I don't know that many people will see it.

Finally the photo of the Twizy car...
Afterwards we again visited Selfridges and headed to the technology section...

Can you believe this .... all of these are spy cameras!  Hidden in watches, gloves, pens and more...
Fancy a hovercraft - just pop into Selfridges...
Or maybe a squawking parrot is what you need...
Emily liked to stick around the revolving door for a few turns....

Next it was on to probably the oldest established toy store .. in the UK...Hamley's...

Needless to say, Emily was quite impressed by the toys on offer, as well the shop workers who demonstrate the toys and involve the shoppers...

Lots of cool Harry Potter  and Lord of the Rings essentials...

 Some royals made of Lego...
Emily and Mum  meet the Queen, who is in Hamley's every day...
