Bath, Day 2 - Beckford's Tower; Fashion Museum

The weather wasn't quite as nice for our second day in Bath, (Friday 6th Sept) but we planned to do more indoor activities, so not a problem.  Susan & David, owners of Little Normead farm where we were staying, provide their guests with a private parking space right in the heart of Bath - very handy.  Convenient, but not today! When we arrived, workmen were resealing the road and we were told we had no access for at least half an hour.  At first we thought we would sit there in the car and wait, but David / Dad  decided to drive somewhere else to make the most of the time... but he hadn't figured on the traffic jams in Bath. He programmed the nearest point of interest in the sat nav, which was "Beckford's Tower"  We had never heard of it but we eventually arrived, to find that it was closed on Fridays....

However the very obliging cleaner allowed us to climb the tower and we were rewarded with some very nice views over a cloudy Bath.

The Landmark Trust also rent out the living areas of Beckford's Tower for weekends and holidays...

After leaving Beckford's Tower we returned to Bath city centre and visited the Museum of Fashion, which displayed an amazing array of clothing, some dating from the 17th century.
