London - Kew Gardens

Tuesday, 24th September

Today we visited Kew Gardens, about a 25 minute walk from our apartment in Brentford.  It was a warm and pleasant weather day; we realised later that much of our walk alongside the road could have been taken alongside the river Thames, so we made sure to take the Thames river pathway on the way back home.

Taking a tour on the Kew gardens mini train...

 The Palm House...
 Cup of tea anyone?

 Inside the palm house...

The oldest tree in Kew gardens...

 Tree tops walk...

Emily enjoyed dropping a donated coin down the long pipe from the top of the tree top walk...

Emily & Dad thought they had found a bird in a nest in the framework of the tree top walk...but it was just a model...

 A resident peacock...

 Relaxing in the afternoon sun...

 Amazing reed sculptures of fungi...

 Bushy-tailed squirrel...

 Action shots!

 That squirrel again...
 Kew bridge over the Thames...
Some of the houseboats moored in the Thames...

Cute little eels in the Kew Gardens aquariums...

 Spot the seahorse...
 More of that squirrel...
