With some cloudy days earlier this week, we delayed our visit to the Eiffel Tower. However we decided that today, Friday, would be the day, as the weather looked promising and also, our short time in Paris was drawing to a close. Since we didn't buy the tickets on line, (these need to be bought at least the day before the planned visit) we had to take our place in the queue. It wasn't too bad, about 30 mins, but then some more waiting to actually get in to reach the elevator. I wanted to buy tickets to the top of the tower but they were not selling these at the first ticket office; seemed to be a way to limit the crowds at the top of the tower, as you could queue again on the 2nd level (another 30 mins or so) to buy tickets for the top. Lesley & Emily were happy not to queue for the top, so I made the ascent to take video and photos. Views were awesome from 2nd level and even better from the top. We were so lucky to have a clear, blue sky/partly cloudy day, and not too hot. See the end of this post for a video of our visit to the Eiffel Tower.

At the top is a small sitting room which Gustav Eiffel used to entertain guests. These mannequins show the time Eiffel welcomed Thomas Edison to the tower...
